Oltreoceano: Le Hit in Viaggio

Chiara Izzi is now one of the most prominent vocalists on the International music scene, having permanently relocated to New York in 2014. This move followed her receiving the first prize for best voice from Quincy Jones at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival’s International Competition. A versatile artist with extraordinary musical sensitivity, she navigates with taste and elegance between jazz traditions and contemporary styles. Her talents extend beyond these genres, as she is also a singer-songwriter and composer, drawing from a diverse palette of influences including pop, Italian songwriting, Brazilian music, and Mediterranean sounds. In 2020, she was awarded at the Independent Music Awards, with her song ‘Circles of the Mind’ recognized as the best in the Jazz with Vocals category.

As the leader of numerous projects and albums, Chiara is set to premiere an innovative concert at Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò, titled Oltreoceano: Le Hit in Viaggio (“Music Hits on a Journey”). This performance pays homage to iconic songs, which were brought to Italy, the homeland of bel canto, adapted into Italian, and transformed into memorable hits. The program is rich with unexpected stories and musical surprises, celebrating the profound connection between worlds and cultures that, despite their geographical distance, share a deep resonance. Each note forges a bridge of communication between continents, particularly between America and Italy where the past and present converge in a timeless musical dialogue.
