Overview

OF TRAINS AND HEROES

By and with Francesco Andolfi

Directed by Janice Orlandi

Followed by a Q&A with Francesco Andolfi.

A young “scamp” from Mergellina enrolls in the Italian Air Force in the 1930s in order to help his large poor family. As a pilot, he will get to know the world and obtain success, until World War II. Through a series of adventures and encounters with people who, for better or worse, made history, he will change the way he sees the world. The incredible escape from war’s atrocities and from nazi-fascism will spark the battle between tyranny and every man’s inviolable right. A one man show that, through an individual story, paradigmatically symbolizes many Italians’ commitment to regain freedom.
