Dino Versini, a separated father, obtains a judge’s permission to spend one day a week with his son. Every Thursday, Dino picks up Robertino in his flashy sports car, eager to impress him and hide from the boy the failures of his life. However, Dino’s brash manners and high-society friends fail to convince the child. After a disastrous trip to the seaside, during which Dino’s lover leaves him, and a visit to the grandmother’s house, an encounter with an industrialist further ruins the father’s already shaky reputation. At the end of the day, after returning his son to his ex-wife, Dino is left to call his lover to beg for forgiveness.
About INCinema – Inclusive Film Festival
INCinema, the first Italian film festival fully accessible to individuals with sensory disabilities, is debuting in New York in collaboration with Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò (New York University).
INCinema – Inclusive Film Festival, created by Federico Spoletti and directed by Angela Prudenzi, is a film event dedicated to universal accessibility. It enables individuals with sensory disabilities to have an immersive and engaging experience. The goal is to make cinema an inclusive space, breaking down barriers and discrimination to welcome everyone, regardless of sensory abilities.
According to international statistics, one in six people will experience some form of disability during their lifetime. In this context, INCinema raises awareness about the importance of making films accessible to individuals with sensory disabilities, adhering to inclusivity principles widely adopted in many countries.
Cinema for All
The films featured at INCinema are made accessible through on-screen subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing and audio descriptions for the blind and visually impaired, available via the free Earcatch app. Inclusivity goes beyond screenings to include masterclasses, meet-the-author sessions, and Q&As with actors and directors, all supported by real-time transcriptions to ensure accessibility for the deaf and hard of hearing.
After touring eight cities in Italy – Florence, Lecce, Rome, Turin, Udine, Milan, and Trieste – the festival is now making its international debut, showcasing restored Italian classic films in accessible formats in New York and London.
