View details about the event: From the ‘Great Actor’ to the ‘Mattatore’A Conversation with the Met's Costume Institute Curator
Overview
Andrew Bolton, Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, in conversation with Grazia d’Annunzio, special projects editor, Italian Vogue.
The mastermind behind The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s successful Costume Institute exhibitions such as Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, China: Through the Looking Glass, Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination, and many others, is a quintessential English scholar named Andrew Bolton, who happily transplanted in New York City 16 years ago.
As Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of The Costume Institute, Bolton will talk about his role overseeing the largest and most comprehensive costume collection in the world, his famous retrospectives and thematic exhibitions, the projects he dreams to plan, the adrenalin before the big openings (including how many hours he normally sleeps before the big Met Gala a.k.a. the “First Monday in May”) and much more.
A bubbling reception will follow.
