in conversation with

The episode will be broadcast on Casa’s Facebook Page and website

The contributions of Italian Neo-Realism to world-wide cinema are countless, but few are as noteworthy as the work that screenwriter Cesare Zavattini dedicated to Mexican, Cuban, and Argentinian film endeavors between the 1950s and early 1960s. NYU Department of Italian Studies Ph.D. Candidate Alfonso G. Aguado will discuss the Latin American accomplishments of the screenwriter behind Bicycle Thieves, Sciuscià, and Umberto D. with David Brancaleone, author of Zavattini. Il neo-realismo e il nuovo cinema latino-americano (2019, Diabasis).
